What is a comprehensive plan and a long-range transportation plan?
A comprehensive plan establishes a long-term vision for a community, focusing on land use, development, community character, housing, economic development, the natural environment, and more. A comprehensive plan is made up of goals, strategies, and illustrative plans.

A long-range transportation plan is a strategic roadmap that outlines transportation goals, strategies, and planned investments for a community. It considers all types of travel: vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders.
Why should this matter to me?
These plans examine what a community is, where it came from, and crafts a coordinated road map for the future. This road map guides the growth, travel, and development of the community for the next 10 to 20 years.

What does the planning process look like?
The planning process will take approximately 12 months and consist of six primary phases: from Discover, where a baseline understanding of Bellevue is developed, to Engage where the community shares their voice, to Plan and Refine when the actual road map for the future of topics like development, connectivity, and housing are recorded, to Implement and Sustain when the new plan is put to work.
